The 378 acre Chanslor Ranch is located on Highway One in
Bodega Bay and approximately 3 million people
per year view the property from Highway 1 as they drive along the pristine
Sonoma County Coast. As many
as 40,000 per year visit the property. We believe that the year-round
display of art and photography will add
to the publics' ability to appreciate the natural and historical resources at
Chanslor Ranch. This program will
begin in the Spring of 2008 and will include public events. One of
these events will be Chanslor Ranch's 11th
Annual Seafood, Art and Wine
Festival For
15 years Chanslor Wildlife
has held art events at the property, including the extremely successful
Bodega Bay, Seafood, Art and Wine Festival - a two day event which has drawn as many as
9,000
participants. These have been the major fund raisers for the Chanslor Wetlands environmental education
and conservation programs on the 378 acre property. They have
typically included 65+ artists, 30 wineries
and breweries, 15 restaurants and caterers - and environmental
preservation and education organizations.
Due to the beautiful ocean view setting, convenient parking and hundreds
of acres of unspoiled beauty -
these events have been successful for artist and the environmental
education programs. We
believe this new Art program will be a significant public benefit.
